I’m happy to report that Kevin and I have officially made it to Kunming/managed to escape Chengdu! 
We arrived via overnight train yesterday morning and beelined it directly to the Vietnamese consulate to arrange our visas. The should be ready on Monday. Until then we will be relaxing around Kunming, which turns out to be a really charming city. More on that next time.

Omigosh I can’t believe we’re leaving tomorrow.. How is it already time???? Despite not completely feeling ready, the time to move to China has come, and Kevin and I are packed up and ready to GO! Every travel blogger who has ever written a single post has made a packing list, so naturally I will follow suit.
Leaving in 6 Days!
I can’t even believe how quickly this whole thing has crept up, especially considering that for awhile it seemed SO far away. Now we’re in a bit of a scramble to get everything together and be ready to go next week! At this point I still don’t really have a clear idea of what I’m packing, and I’ve yet to shop for the trip. And, as far as money, we probably should have pinched our pennies a little more in October (although we have not been doing extravagant spending by any means, we probably could have packed a few more lunches..), ’cause now we’re working until the last minute! It’s all good though, I’m excited about my job and feeling confident we’re going to find something for Kevin when we get there.
